Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the nose and, where needed, its breathing function. The goal is a balanced, natural result in harmony with the face as a whole.
What is rhinoplasty?
The bridge, tip, and nostrils of the nose, along with the internal structures, are reshaped with the person's facial proportions in mind. The procedure may be purely aesthetic, or it may include correcting functional problems such as difficulty breathing.
Who may it be suitable for?
It may be considered for people who are unhappy with the appearance of their nose or who have a bump on the bridge, a drooping or wide nasal tip, a crooked nose, or difficulty breathing. Suitability is determined by health status, expectations, and examination findings.
Techniques
There are different methods, including open and closed technique, revision, and functional (septorhinoplasty) approaches. Which one is appropriate depends on the nose and the goal.
