Upper Eyelid Aesthetics – Upper Blepharoplasty

The most common problem observed in the upper eyelids as the age progresses is excess skin. While the thinning, elongation and sagging of the skin cause a tired and sad expression, the progress of the problem over time can also negatively affect the vision.

In the upper eyelid aesthetic surgery, in addition to the excess skin on the eyelid, a small amount of subcutaneous muscle and or fat tissue can be removed when necessary, and the effects of aging as well as the vision problems caused by the curtain effect of excess skin can be corrected.

Lower Eyelid Aesthetics – Lower Blepharoplasty

Loosening and sagging in the skin and subcutaneous tissues under the eyes causes wrinkles in this area and eye bagging over time. In the lower eyelid plastic surgery, the excess skin in this area is removed, while the excess fat tissues in the bagging areas are partially removed or spread to the areas with fat tissue loss.

During this operation, which provides a very effective rejuvenation around the eye, it is possible to correct the looseness of the lower eyelid or to give the eye a different appearance by changing the location of the outer angle of the eye.

In some patients, only the upper or only lower eyelid surgery is planned, while in the majority of patients, both the upper and lower eyelids are intervened at the same time, in patients with low eyebrows, procedures for eyebrow lifting can be added to the surgery, and a full eye area rejuvenation can be achieved.

How is Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?

Although it is possible to perform the procedure under local anesthesia or sedation called sedative anesthesia in patients who will only undergo interventions for the upper eyelids, general anesthesia is usually performed in most patients, as procedures such as lower eyelid surgery or eyebrow lift, facelift, fat injection are also performed at the same time. is preferred.

Although the incisions for the upper eyelids are always made on the skin, it is possible to perform the lower eyelid surgery through the eyelid (transconjunctival) without an external incision in patients without significant eyelid loosening and with mild bagging.

All patients who are planned to have eyelid aesthetics should be evaluated in detail by an ophthalmologist before the operation in terms of eyelid and tear functions.
